News Brief: Roadwork Updates

Two brief updates on local roads:

• The Virginia Department of Transportation says the restriping of paved sections of Richmond Highway is scheduled to take place later this week.

• Tulley Gate at Fort Belvoir will continue to remain closed for at least a few weeks. Besides repairing Pohick Road, the garrison is having the road restriped and plans to repave the parking lot at the visitor center, according to the Fort Belvoir Public Affairs Office (PAO). Lieber Gate will continue serving as the visitor and commercial access gate in the interim. With security staffing hovering at around 60%, Fort Belvoir's Emergency Services doesn't have the manpower to reopen Walker or Telegraph Gates, said the PAO.
