While Capital Chicken prepares to reopen in its new location at 8339 Richmond Highway, another restaurant is getting ready to occupy its former space at Mount Vernon Plaza.
honeygrow, a create-your-own stir fry, salad and honeybar eatery, signed a lease with Federal Realty last spring, said a PR representative for the property management company. Construction is currently taking place inside the space, which is adjacent to the parklet in the shopping center.
honeygrow was founded in Philadelphia in 2012 and has since expanded to dozens of locations on the East Coast between Boston and Northern Virginia. The company-owned restaurants are known for their customizable dishes made with wholesome foods.
“We are excited to welcome honeygrow to Mount Vernon Plaza,” said Deirdre Johnson, senior vice president of asset management at Federal Realty. Noting that honeygrow will open in early 2024, Johnson said that customers will have the “convenient option of enjoying customizable and fresh stir fry dishes, salads and fruit-based desserts with friends and family in the parklet.”
honeygrow will be located at 7698-B Richmond Highway.
