Retail Update: recent and upcoming openings at Lorton's Liberty Market

The new Ledo Pizza at Liberty Market in Lorton opened its doors Oct. 30, making it the first restaurant to open in the small shop building across from Lidl supermarket. 

The store's franchisee, Rekh Karki, also operates a Ledo Pizza in Kingstowne and said he likes the new restaurant's location due to its proximity to I-95 and several schools. 

Indeed, forming community partnerships and participating in school fundraisers will be "the next big push" for the pizzeria once its staff gets fully up to speed, said Patrick Niggel, a representative from Ledo's corporate office in Annapolis, Maryland. 

On the opposite end of the retail building, Taco Rock has yet to open its doors but likely will be the next restaurant to do so, based on an updated timeline provided by the South County Federation. The remaining eateries housed in the building — Yafa Grille, Kokee Tea and Hangry Joe's — are now slated to open in January.
