America's Best Wings opens at Mount Vernon Plaza

America's Best Wings, a fast-food chain specializing in wings and seafood, has expanded its operations in Fairfax County with the Oct. 6 opening of a restaurant at Mount Vernon Plaza.

Located across from Shopper's Food Warehouse between Solace Day Spa and Pacific Dental Services, the eatery offers 31 flavors of Buffalo wings, fried or grilled fish and shrimp, pasta, salads, sides and a variety of other fast food fare. Food can be ordered via phone or online, and delivery partners include DoorDash, Uber Eats and Grubhub.

Although the restaurant is not holding a formal ribbon cutting event, according to the store manager, a steady stream of customers flowed into the business on Friday evening. Locals have long been waiting for the Hybla Valley location to open, posting questions about its status on the Nextdoor website as early as July. The store manager attributed the delay to some paperwork-related matters between the construction firm and the county. 

Earlier this summer, a separate America's Best Wings franchise opened the chain's first Fairfax County location in Vienna. Another store is set to open at Gunston Plaza in Lorton. 

America's Best Wings is located at 7696C Richmond Highway. The restaurant's hours are Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
