The long-awaited Tandoori Kabob & Grill restaurant, located at Sacramento Center in the Woodlawn section of Alexandria, opened Feb. 3. The family-owned restaurant offers a variety of fresh, made-to-order meals, including Tandoor and grill specials, combination meat platters, curry, rice, vegetables, gyros, and bread, as well as appetizers, desserts and beverages.
Tandoori Kabob’s general manager Khairul Khan said he began building out the nearly 3,000-square-foot space at the start of the pandemic and that he essentially had to start from scratch — installing flooring, the ceiling and acquiring all the furniture. One unexpected novelty to the restaurant is a sliding door near the kitchen that leads to a large private banquet hall seating up to 100 people. Rentable for parties, weddings and other special occasions, the facility has its own private front entrance and a small stage.
Khan is no stranger to the hospitality industry as he’s worked for over 30 years for Marriott. He continues to work full-time there but plans to stop by the restaurant regularly, where his wife helps run the day-to-day operations.
Tandoori Kabob & Grill, located at 8792 Sacramento Drive, is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Online ordering and food delivery are available.

Yea! Ericka, thanks for the great news and keeping the community informed of what's happening locally.
Ericka, thanks for sharing. I haven't seen any notice or coverage about this project by the Bureau of Land Management except for your "On the MoVe" posts. Thanks for helping to keep the community informed. Recommend that readers review and submit comments. From my listening to the meeting, I get the sense that
I am strongly opposed to any expansion of parking at the Mustang Loop parking lot. I support repaving with a permeable material. In my opinion, moving the pollinator garden is a waste of county resources. It adds a valued bit of nature to an otherwise sterile parking area and pavilion.
Erika, thanks for the update.
You're welcome!
