Roberta Tinch, president of Inova Mount Vernon Hospital (IMVH) since September 2019 and an active leader in the local business community, has been named one of Modern Healthcare’s top 25 emerging leaders for 2023, according to an Inova press release. Modern Healthcare’s annual recognition program honors rising stars in the healthcare industry who are 40 years of age or younger, and who “contribute to a culture of innovation and help their organizations achieve and exceed financial, operational and clinical goals.”

Tinch is credited with significantly expanding the capacity of IMVH’s acute behavioral health program, investing more than $1 million in minimally invasive surgical systems — the hospital has acquired several robotic systems in recent years — and transitioning the hospital’s clinical care program to a hospitalist model. She also serves as vice president and administrator of Inova’s Musculoskeletal Service Line.

Earlier this year, Tinch became chair of the Mount Vernon Springfield Chamber of Commerce’s Economic Development Committee, and she has been a member of the organization’s board of directors for over two years. Chamber President Holly Dougherty described Tinch as “a problem solver by nature” who has the ability to quickly grasp the important elements of any situation and lead discussions to explore and find solutions.

“She excels in bringing out the best in others and motivating a team to work together towards a mutually agreed solution,” Dougherty said.
