The Dean Law Firm in Hollin Hall added attorney Dina Koch, Esq. to its legal team, according to a June 28 press release. Previously she held other positions in the legal profession, government, nonprofit fundraising and political accounting and compliance. Koch is a graduate of the College of William and Mary and the University of Texas School of Law. She is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Amanda Burke was named the new principal of Edison High School. According to a June 20 announcement from Fairfax County Public Schools’ Region 3 Office, Burke comes to Edison after serving as acting principal at Rocky Run Middle School in Chantilly. She also has served as assistant principal at Chantilly High School and Woodson High School. Burke has been a military liaison at several schools and kicked off her teaching career in 2000 at Edison. Good Shepherd Housing announced in mid-June that the organization’s deputy executive director, Candice Bennett, would begin serving as interim executive director, effective June 30, following the departure of Michelle Krocker, who also had been serving in an interim capacity. The board of Good Shepherd soon plans to announce a new, permanent executive director who will assume leadership in mid-September. Bennett, a Lorton resident, has been with Good Shepherd for almost eight years. She also serves as an at-large commissioner for the Fairfax County Planning Commission and on the board of directors for the Lorton Station Community Association.
