As first reported by “Army Times,” eight military commissaries — including the one at Fort Belvoir — are slated to pilot a new grocery delivery service available to customers within a 20-mile driven radius of the stores.
According to the Jan. 31 pre-solicitation notice on a government contracting website, the Department of Defense is seeking a vendor to expand upon commissaries’ existing online ordering and curbside pick-up service known as “Commissary CLICK2GO,” by providing ecommerce-based delivery services. While commissary personnel will still handle all payments, select customers’ grocery items and prepare them for pick-up, the contractor will be responsible for delivering the groceries within a two-hour window of customers’ preferred delivery times. The initial pilot will last for 90 days, following a 45-day period of integration and testing.
The start date for the pilot is not yet available, according to "Army Times." The Fort Belvoir Commissary is located at 6050 Gorgas Road, building 2325.

Yea! Ericka, thanks for the great news and keeping the community informed of what's happening locally.
Ericka, thanks for sharing. I haven't seen any notice or coverage about this project by the Bureau of Land Management except for your "On the MoVe" posts. Thanks for helping to keep the community informed. Recommend that readers review and submit comments. From my listening to the meeting, I get the sense that
I am strongly opposed to any expansion of parking at the Mustang Loop parking lot. I support repaving with a permeable material. In my opinion, moving the pollinator garden is a waste of county resources. It adds a valued bit of nature to an otherwise sterile parking area and pavilion.
Erika, thanks for the update.
You're welcome!
