The American Horticultural Society at River Farm reportedly has a new neighbor: the owner of the Washington Commanders.

As reported on Feb. 15 by the "Washington Business Journal," public records show that Dan Snyder listed the River View estate at 7979 East Boulevard Drive as his home address on a political donation made in January. The 16,000 square-foot home sold for $48 million last fall - a record for the Greater Washington area.

Located on 16.5 acres of George Washington's original Mount Vernon estate, the waterfront property previously sold in March 2014 for $18.6 million. That year, it also was the most expensive home sold in the region, according to a "Washington Post" report.

For more information on the sale, check out this article from the "Greater Alexandria Patch."
