The cover story of the April 2022 issue of Washingtonian is "The Hottest Neighborhoods of Washington's Real Estate Boom," and based on the publication's analysis of price and sales volume data from Q1 2020 to Q4 2021, the 22307 ZIP code is at the top of the list.
Extending from the Belle Haven community down to Mason Hill Drive and Morningside Lane, the 22307's "ample green space, proximity to water and nature, and neighborhoods full of detached houses" made the area highly desirable during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the study authors. While the number of houses sold only modestly increased during the study period — by 21.3% from the start of the pandemic to the end of 2021 — the median sale price skyrocketed from $390,000 to $687,000, a 76.2% increase.
Several other Richmond Highway area ZIP codes made the publication's "100 ZIP Codes on the Rise" list, where home prices grew the most during the Q1 2020 to Q4 2021 time frame. The postal codes that made the list include the 22303 (#17); 22306 (#69); 22310 (#77); 22308 (#81); and 22315 (#90).

Yea! Ericka, thanks for the great news and keeping the community informed of what's happening locally.
Ericka, thanks for sharing. I haven't seen any notice or coverage about this project by the Bureau of Land Management except for your "On the MoVe" posts. Thanks for helping to keep the community informed. Recommend that readers review and submit comments. From my listening to the meeting, I get the sense that
I am strongly opposed to any expansion of parking at the Mustang Loop parking lot. I support repaving with a permeable material. In my opinion, moving the pollinator garden is a waste of county resources. It adds a valued bit of nature to an otherwise sterile parking area and pavilion.
Erika, thanks for the update.
You're welcome!
