Greenstreet Gardens, a family-owned and operated business, reopened its Belle Haven-based garden center this past weekend.
To spiff up the site and better protect the plants from harsh weather conditions, staff members added green shade cloth and a greenhouse to the outdoor-based center this year. The Belle Haven location, which has been in business seasonally since summer 2018, specializes in outdoor plants like annuals and perennials, and sells some gardening supplies and a few food products as well.
Staff members at Greenstreet Gardens' W. Braddock Road location in the City of Alexandria said they are hiring cashiers and salespeople — especially those familiar with outdoor plants — for the Belle Haven garden center. Interested parties can apply via the website or stop by at 1721 W. Braddock Road for an application.
Greenstreet Gardens is located at 5905 Richmond Highway and is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunny, with a high of 61 and low of 35 degrees. Sunny during the morning, clear overnight.
Yea! Ericka, thanks for the great news and keeping the community informed of what's happening locally.
Ericka, thanks for sharing. I haven't seen any notice or coverage about this project by the Bureau of Land Management except for your "On the MoVe" posts. Thanks for helping to keep the community informed. Recommend that readers review and submit comments. From my listening to the meeting, I get the sense that
I am strongly opposed to any expansion of parking at the Mustang Loop parking lot. I support repaving with a permeable material. In my opinion, moving the pollinator garden is a waste of county resources. It adds a valued bit of nature to an otherwise sterile parking area and pavilion.
Erika, thanks for the update.
You're welcome!
